LondonEnergy is proud to announce the delivery of 12 new Volvo FM 500 6×2 tag axle tractor units with sleeper cabs as part of our ongoing fleet modernisation programme. This latest investment, delivered in partnership with Novuna Vehicle Solutions, forms a critical phase of our fleet replacement plan, ensuring greater efficiency and reliability in our operations.
We have worked with Novuna Vehicle Solutions for the past seven years to build and manage our fleet of 35 vehicles, servicing seven sites across London. This long-standing partnership has been key to maintaining our commitment to delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable waste management services to the communities we serve.
The arrival of the new tractor units marks the first stage of our comprehensive fleet overhaul strategy. By investing in modern, high-performance vehicles, we are reducing downtime and ensuring seamless waste collection operations across London. These enhancements reinforce our dedication to operational excellence and sustainability.
In collaboration with Volvo, Novuna Vehicle Solutions has built and designed the new units to meet the highest safety and performance standards. All vehicles are DVS compliant and feature a lower passenger door window to improve visibility around the cab, enhancing safety on London’s roads.
Each truck showcases bold, impactful visuals designed by creative agency Effusion. The three-panel design illustrates the journey of waste transformation, depicting an item’s progression from non-recyclable waste to valuable energy. The large arrow symbol on each truck symbolises the conversion process, visually demonstrating our commitment to sustainability by showcasing how we repurpose waste streams.
“By partnering with trusted localised suppliers within our approved service network, we are also helping LondonEnergy minimise downtime, ensuring the vehicles stay on the road and continue delivering essential waste management services across London”.
Jim Kendall, Managing Director at LondonEnergy, added: “Novuna Vehicle Solutions has been a key partner throughout our fleet replacement programme. Their in-depth analysis of our operations ensured that the new tractor units are perfectly suited to our fleet’s needs, improving efficiency and performance.”
Jon Lawes, Managing Director at Novuna Vehicle Solutions, said: “After 18 months of planning and collaboration, handover of the Volvo tractor units represents a key milestone for LondonEnergy as they transform their fleet operation. We’ve worked closely together to develop a tailored solution that addresses their specific fleet challenges, focusing on efficiency and reliability.
