At LondonEnergy we are leading by example. When it comes to Health and Safety we go above and beyond to provide a safe working environment for our employees, contractors, visitors and the local community.

Our safety culture

Our goal is simple – the wellbeing of our team. We want our employees to be safe at work, enjoy a good work life balance, and return home safely at the end of every day.

Our START Safely training is an award-winning scheme that deliverers regular workshops to our employees ensuring safety is always at the front of their minds. START Safely incorporates a range of interactive activities, including employee workshops, manual handling, guiding principles, vehicle safety, and PPE.

Behavioural safety

Our Behavioural Safety training aims to move LondonEnergy higher up the safety culture ladder. It combines practical training on how to report and in-depth IOSH certified training on behavioural science.

The new programme has been formally approved by The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the chartered body and largest membership organisation for health and safety professionals.

Delivered to all managers, it enables them to understand safety performance and culture and how it can be improved and sustained in conjunction with other company systems and procedures.

RoSPA

We received the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Silver Award in 2020 and 2021. This prestigious international award organisation allows us to benchmark our safety performance year on year and ensure we achieve a consistent performance between our sites. RoSPA also provides an effective route to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards.

ISO Certification

At LondonEnergy we are Integrated Management System (IMS) certified. IMS consist of three ISO certifications including, ISO9001 Quality Management System, ISO14001 Environmental Management System & ISO45001 Health & Safety Management System.

IMS demonstrates to our stakeholders that we put our customers at the forefront of everything we do by assessing and managing the environmental impact of our business activities to help protect our employees.

Benchmarking our performance

We continually monitor compliance and benchmark our performance through audits, surveys and regular safety inspections. This is undertaken by our HSQE team and external auditors. The results are reviewed and, if necessary, changes made to continually improve our processes and procedures.

We also run a “Safety Climate Tool” (SCT) survey every year to measure our employee’s attitudes and perceptions of health and safety issues at work. The SCT provides an insight into our safety culture and areas of strength and weakness across all our sites.

In 2021, for the second year in a row, LondonEnergy performed higher than the Industry Health and Safety Laboratory.
