In May 2018 Peter Zinkin was re-elected as the Councillor for Childs Hill in the London Borough of He is Chair of the Barnet Council Conservative Group, Chair of the Financial Performance and Contracts committee which, inter alia, oversees major property projects and other capital works. He is Vice-chair of the Environment committee and is a member of a number of specialist working groups. On behalf of Barnet he is a Governor of the Royal Free Hospital Trust and a Governor observer on its finance and investment committee. He is a vice-chair of the North London Waste Authority, the London West member of the Thames Regional Flood and Coastal committee and the Barnet representative on the transport and environment committee of London Councils. At Barnet he is involved in the oversight of the Brent Cross regeneration project and the new Thameslink station project at the Brent Cross development.
