As experts in waste management, we can bring STEM subjects to life by showing young people how our business works. We run a range of activities with schools, from helping with careers advice, public tours, CV planning, mock interviews, presentations and running workshops.
What happens to my waste?
Our educational programmes provide a rich resource for learning about environmental issues, energy, and waste disposal. The programmes are designed to give students a chance to understand how waste is managed in North London and how our energy plant works.
To show what we do, we are organising supervised visits for school groups at one of our recycling centres. Plus we are partnering with several North London schools organising visits and waste education presentations.

University Partnership
Hertfordshire University
We are proud to partner with Hertfordshire University to offer apprenticeship programmes for young people to gain a degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering. The four-year plan combines classroom training with hands-on experience. It provides apprentices with the skills and knowledge they need to start a rewarding career as a Mechanical Fitter.
From the programme's start, apprentices work on projects to assist our engineers with maintenance work in the Energy Centre plant. We provide ongoing coaching and development to help them grow into their role.

Brunel University
We regularly partner with Brunel University to recruit Electrical and Mechanical Engineering students for our graduate programme.
We attend their London Virtual STEM Fair and meet with students to talk through the programme and what we do.
