ReUse Shop

2021 Carla in the Kings Road reuse shop

Our ReUse Shop provides a place for residents to buy ethically by purchasing pre-loved items at affordable prices. We give things a new lease of life and divert waste from landfill.

The ReUse Shop

Shop reopens

The ReUse Shop in Chingford is reopening on Wednesday 13 December having been closed due to repairs on the roof.

Our ReUse Shop opened in 2015 and is a bustling hub for Chingford locals looking for a bargain or project.

The shop sells a range of pre-loved items, with stock changing constantly.  Items for sale could include furniture, toys, sports equipment, crockery and other household items.  The items for sale have been donated for reuse by residents or collected from the other Reuse and Recycling Centres, which would otherwise have been thrown away.

Before, many of these items would have been sent for recycling – requiring energy to turn it into something new – or landfill.

All items in the shop are priced affordably, offering residents the chance to buy for a fraction of the cost they would do if they bought new.

Upcyclers looking for a project

Upcycling is all about taking something that would have been considered waste and turning it into something beautiful that can be used again.

In the last year, our team has created a dedicated area for upcycling fanatics looking for their next project. It is something anyone can turn their hand to, so why not give it a go and bring a new lease of life to something old.

Our current top-selling items are:

  • All things garden (pots, in particular, furniture, tools etc.)
  • Vintage furniture and mirrors
  • Smaller, solid and/or distressed rustic furniture to upcycle (chest of drawers, side tables, etc.)

All profits support the running cost of the shop and fund awareness campaigns to encourage waste reduction, recycling, and recovery.

Where to find us

The ReUse Shop is located at Kings Road Reuse and Recycling Centre.

The shop is open Wednesday to Saturday, 9am to 4pm.
