What do you think the benefits of apprenticeships are?
I've always wanted to drive an HGV. It feels great to now be working towards my HGV 1&2 Driving Licence. I'm also learning so much from experienced drivers about vehicles and road safety.
What is a typical day?
I am currently shadowing one of the drivers. On a typical day, we carry out checks on our vehicle, collect the driving rota for the day and make deliveries to recycling centres to drop off bin containers or deliver waste to our energy plant.
Are there any challenges that you have had to overcome?
A challenge when I started was adjusting to the 5.30am start time.
How is LondonEnergy/team supporting you in your apprenticeship?
The drivers are fantastic and are a great support during my driver training.
What advice would you give to anyone that is considering doing an apprenticeship?
To stay motivated and stick to your plan.
